KowTown Gravel is an honest Colorado gravel classic — a high-altitude throwdown across wide-open ranch country and rolling mountain terrain. This is cattle country, not coffee-shop country. The skies are big, the roads run long, and the hospitality comes with a firm handshake and a hot meal.

Thanks to a generous donor, $5,000 in prize money will be split between the Top 5 Overall Men and Top 5 Overall Women on the Bull Course, raising the stakes for those ready to test themselves on Colorado’s toughest gravel.

Ranch-Tested Routes

Riders choose from four thoughtfully designed courses, each delivering its own brand of grit:

  • Bull Course – 88 miles
The full-grown challenge. Long climbs, sun-baked gravel flats, and technical descents that demand respect.

  • Cow Course – 54 miles
The sweet spot. Big views, fast gravel, and enough elevation to keep you honest.

  • Calf Course – 28 miles
Smooth, scenic, and satisfying — a solid day in the saddle without overreaching.

  • Cow Dog Course – 16 miles
Friendly and wide open. Perfect for first-timers, families, or anyone riding for the joy of it.

All routes start and finish at West Grand High School, heading straight into high-country ranchland where roads stretch fencepost to fencepost and traffic is scarce. Expect hard-packed county roads, doubletrack, punchy climbs, and views that don’t quit. Aid stations are well stocked, signage is clear, and on-course support has you covered. Every course brings you home — just from a different direction.

Finish Strong

When you cross the line, the work’s done — and the fun begins.

Kremmling fires up the grills for a proper finish-line BBQ, turns up the music, and welcomes the whole community. Riders enjoy meal tickets, free showers, a bike wash, on-site camping, and a Friday night community spaghetti dinner where stories start early and only get better.

Whether you’re here to race, roam, or ride until the dust settles, KowTown Gravel delivers gravel the way it ought to be — tough, welcoming, and rooted in the land.

This isn’t just another event.
It’s a gathering of riders in ranch country — Colorado-style.
